The PATA Travel Mart is one of the longest-running travel trade shows in Asia Pacific. It boasts over four decades of experience in connecting qualified international buyers and sellers through one-to-one business appointments.
The Virtual PATA Travel Mart 2022, in conjunction with Sichuan International Travel Expo, will be held in a 100% digital format. This makes it easy for delegates to stay up-to-date with the latest travel products and build connections with new business partners and global colleagues. Trade visitors can also attend the event’s value-added Forums to learn about industry trends and access reliable information.
vPTM 2021 Participants
The PATA Annual Summit brought together global travel thought leaders, industry shaper, and senior decision makers from Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe and, the Middle East to highlight the fundamental challenges, issues, and opportunities of recovery from the pandemic and preparation for emerging natural and man-made crises.
This requires a new type of leadership from truly progressive entities and is critical as the world works towards the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These principles including the Sustainable Development Goals are aligned to the mission of PATA in acting as a catalyst for the responsible development and management of travel and tourism in Asia Pacific.
The conference was experiential, with a sense of place and focused on global travel leadership convening on real actions against sustainability commitments. Elizabeth Chin attended the 3-day conference in Ras Al Khaimah. It was a great opportunity to network and reconnect with your global colleagues with curated experiences in an environment of beautiful beach, desert, and mountain terrains.
Marina Bay Sands
Now in its 15th year, ITB Asia was held in-person, alongside MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 19 – 21 October 2022, covering the key verticals in the travel industry such as Leisure, MICE, Corporate, and Travel Technology. With three shows in one event, it has become Asia’s largest travel showcase.
Joebert Opulencia, NY PATA chairman, attended the 3-day in-person show in Singapore. The event features thousands of exhibiting companies from the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. Exhibitors from every sector of the industry, including destinations, airlines and airports, hotels and resorts, theme parks and attractions, inbound tour operators, inbound DMCs, cruise lines, spas, venues, other meeting facilities, and travel technology companies attend the event.
Ras Al Khaimah
Today you can find establishments that serve dishes of all world cuisines in Ras al-Khaimah, and seafood is consumed abundantly. Great menus are created with fresh seafood that comes from Bafra Bay. Colorful fresh vegetables and fruits are also used in meals. The most distinctive feature of the local dishes is the intense use of local spices. It is possible to see cinnamon, saffron, turmeric, peanuts, and dried fruits in every meal. The unique cooking tactics of Arab cuisine also add a different taste to red and white meat.
There are English pubs, pizzerias, burger joints, and even pancake houses here.
However, it is worth considering that the UAE is a Muslim country. So, you will not find alcohol in free sale here. You can buy alcohol only in the hotel restaurants or in places that are designed for non-Muslims.
Pictures on the left was food at a restaurant, mainly seafood and stews. On the right was food served at the RAK Convention Center. Head chef is French, and the food was exquisite.
