New York PATA Success at ITS
 The ITS International Travel Show, a world-class travel industry event in New York City, was a big success for New York PATA. Our 10 x 20 corner booth was strategically located near the entrance of the event. Our busiest day was on Friday, October 27th when two corporate accounts (hospitality and tour operator), Sri Lanka, media, and a travel advisor became members of NY PATA.On the day dedicated to the travel trade, about 60 NY PATA members attended ITS and conferences. Missing ITS this year is our Chairman, Joebert Opulencia, who was attending ITB Asia in Singapore. Our traditional photo op and networking took place at 3 pm in Booth 613. NY PATA members, Kevin Hichour, general manager, Holidays with Downtown Travel and Michael Luongo of Purdue University Hospitality & Tourism Management were speakers at ITS. Kevin Hichour was on the panel, “How tours make you money and the world more sustainable” with Terry Dale as moderator, and Michael Luongo was the moderator on “The Middle East” panel. “Focus on Asia Pacific” conference was presented by NY PATA.NY PATA member exhibitors at ITS were China National Tourist Office, Travel Bureau of Nepal, Antigua & Barbuda, and Travel World VR. Exhibitors of some major brands and destinations for the travel show were conspicuously absent this year. Is having two major travel shows a year at Javits Center, more than what the market will bear, post-pandemic? |
