Happy Diwali

Hokkaido, Japan

Hokkaido is a food lover’s paradise, and one of the must-try dishes is Kaisen-don. This simple yet delicious dish consists of a bowl of rice topped with a variety of fresh seafood, including uni (sea urchin), which Hokkaido is famous for. The cold waters surrounding Japan’s northernmost prefecture provide the ideal conditions for fish and sea vegetation, resulting in high-quality and fresh seafood that Hokkaido is renowned for. Apart from seafood, Hokkaido’s history and culture are also unique, with a hunting and fishing-based culture that lasted until about 2,000 years ago, followed by Ainu culture. The region has a cool climate and wide pastures with fresh air that is said to be the optimal, stress-free environment for cows. This environment, in turn, contributes greatly to the best quality of smooth and creamy milk that Filipinos have come to love.

Luisa Made It…UN 193!!
Luisa Yu, a world traveler, has achieved a remarkable feat of visiting all 193 UN sovereign countries in the world. This is a significant milestone for any traveler. The UN list of nations is considered the official count of countries in the world.
Luisa’s accomplishment is even more impressive when compared to the average global traveler, who has only visited 18 countries, according to Visited’s travel statistics.
The Travelers’ Century Club, which requires visiting 100 or more countries and territories, has no stipulations on the duration of the visit. Luisa’s achievement is truly remarkable and a testament to her passion for travel.
Congratulations, Luisa!New York PATA

Wellness and Sustainability

“ Eat Well, Feel Wonderful ”. This is the core concept of the all-Puglia event which will take place in New York on 15, 16 and 17 November during the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World , now in its eighth edition. Three days dedicated entirely to ” Eating well and feeling fit “, a simple and effective slogan that the Puglia region with its Agriculture Department is promoting abroad to underline how the excellent quality, combined with the sustainability of exported agri-food products is a key point for the well-being of the person and, consequently, of the entire society.  This wellness topic is particularly sensitive in America, especially in New York, where American and international consumers are continually looking for good products that can reduce diseases related to cholesterol, obesity or hypertension and are the right ingredients for a life of health, well-being and sustainability.  photo: orecchiette with broccoli rabe
